Video games have become the flagship of Poland’s entertainment industry, while sales of The Witcher game series constitute four percent of the total export from Poland to the US, the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP) wrote on Thursday.

The daily added that the year 2020 is expected to bring the best results in the history of the video games industry. The market is also expecting two more popular premieres of Cyberpunk 2077 games from CD Projekt Red and Dying Light 2 from Techland.

Fantasyexpo advertising agency and Google have organised a Great Game conference in Warsaw, at which the perspectives of the Polish games sector were discussed.

It was attended by the Development Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz, representatives of the most important Polish companies, investors and public administration employees.

“When we speak about strong economic diplomacy, it must interact with strong cultural diplomacy. In my opinion the gaming industry is a very strong lever in this area,” Emilewicz said. She also invited representatives of the sector to next year’s EXPO in Dubai, and indicated that it is worth showing Poland’s technological potential there.
