Vertonghen posts Tottenham dressing room selfie just months after Pochettino told players no photos until they win a trophy

JAN VERTONGHEN posted a Spurs dressing room selfie just three months after Mauricio Pochettino warned his players not to do so until they had won something.

The Tottenham defender was celebrating his side reaching the Champions League quarter-final after a 1-0 win at Dortmund last night.

He smiled at the camera alongside Eric Dier, Michel Vorm and Erik Lamela.

Harry Kane had got the winner that booked Tottenham’s place in the last-eight.

And while the quest for Champions League silverware is still alive, it seems Vertonghen had forgotten the warning his boss fired last December.

Pochettino told his players there would be no dressing room selfies allowed until they won something.

That was in response to Arsenal players posting a photo after crushing Tottenham 4-2 in the North London derby.

Poch snapped: “

Obviously if you win a trophy like I did when I was a player, it is time to celebrate.

“Of course, show the fans you are happy, it’s fantastic — but when you win something special.

“I accept people need it. It is how you feed your ego and I accept it is a new world. But I am of the older generation and, personally, I don’t like them.

“This is my mentality. I accept new technology but I try to keep a bit of that away.

“I love to celebrate the things with your team-mates but I love to celebrate in private and not make it public.”
