Tyson Fury calls Deontay Wilder ‘weak’ as row erupts at press conference
Tyson Fury weighed in three stone heavier than rival Deontay Wilder as the pair traded insults for the final time before their trilogy fight.
A fully-clothed Fury scaled 277lb compared to Wilder’s similarly career-high 238lb at the weigh-in ceremony held without fans in attendance in Las Vegas.
The Brit, who defends his world title against Wilder on Saturday night, was four pounds heavier than he was for his second instalment with his American rival last year.
Wilder, meanwhile, weighed seven pounds more than he did before he was stopped in the seventh round in the very same MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The heavyweight rivals had been kept apart at their press conference on Wednesday and were again denied the chance to face off after weighing in after promoter Bob Arum claimed the staredown “dehumanised” the fighters.

“We are always looking for trouble, why are we doing that?,” he said. “Do you see in professional American Football the two quarterbacks face off?
“They are not animals, they are sportsmen. I think they are unnecessary, it dehumanises the fighters and I don’t think it’s good for the sport.”
Fury and Wilder exchanged X-rated insults across the stage while Fury and his team were heckled by Wilder’s supporters.
Afterwards, Fury said: “This means totally obliteration of a dosser, total annihilation. Two hundred and seventy seven pounds, I’m going to put him the royal infirmary after this.

“There’s a man here going to annihilate you. This ends with him severely hurt on the floor and smashed to bits. His little pretty wife down there won’t recognise him.”
Wilder added: “The weight came on and I wanted to look sexy. I’m benching 350lb so whatever he weighs I can put him on my back and lift him.”
Fury weighed 256.5lb for his first fight with Wilder as he was dropped twice before being denied victory by the judges who scored the bout a draw.
The Brit then bulked up to 273lb for last year’s rematch with Wilder also piling on the pounds, scaling 231lb compared to 212lb for the first instalment.

Fury and Wilder were originally due to clash for a third time last summer but the coronavirus crisis pushed the fight back to first October and then December.
Fury then pulled out when Wilder sought another delay – only for the American to take his case to arbitration.
And while Fury was gearing up for an undisputed clash with Anthony Joshua, retired judge Daniel Weinstein ruled he must instead face Wilder again.
The trilogy was pushed back once more from July to October when Fury contracted Covid-19, but the pair will finally settle their rivalry on Saturday night.
