Tyson Fury weighed in three stone heavier than Deontay Wilder on the eve of their highly-anticipated rematch in Las Vegas.

Fury and Wilder tipped the scales in front of a completely packed MGM Grand Arena, with security turning people away at the door a full hour before the heavyweights were due on the scales.

The challenger and lineal champion was up first and weighed in 273lbs, over 16lbs heavier than the first fight in 2018.

Wilder also piled on the pounds, tipped the scales at 231lbs, over 18lbs heavier than what he weighed for the first bout.

The crowd showed its allegiances moments before the weigh-ins started when the defending WBC champion appeared on the big screen.

Loud boos rang out in the arena, while Fury’s appearance garnered excited cheers from the audience. ‘There’s only one Tyson Fury’ was sung by an electric crowd which hit fever pitch when the Gypsy King emerged from backstage to post his weight.

The traditional face-off was abandoned due to the chaotic scenes at the press conference on Wednesday.

Fury and Wilder were separated by security during a lengthy stand-off and the Nevada Athletic Commission subsequently decided to bar the rivals from conducting their final stare-down.

Instead the rivals were restricted to stand on each end of the stage and fire insults at each other from a distance.
