Twitch streamer sets kitchen on fire after 46 day marathon

Unsurprisingly, Tubbo’s toaster challenge went horribly wrong (Picture: Twitch)

UK streamer Tubbo let his viewers decide what to put in his toaster, as part of a challenge, almost setting the entire house on fire as a result.

Whether it’s to make their viewers laugh or kill some time, streamers are known to do some ridiculous challenges and stunts on air, such as setting off fireworks inside their own house.

Another challenge that also could’ve turned the house into ash was when UK Twitch streamer Tubbo, who had been live for 46 days straight at that point, as part of his annual marathon of livestreaming, decided to let his viewers choose what he would put in his toaster.

The challenge, called ‘Will it toast?’, got out of hand when the toaster caught fire and Tubbo had to rush to get the fire extinguisher before the fire spread.

Tubbo and his friends would find three items and his chat voted on which item to put in the toaster, on maximum settings for a full cycle.

After breaking the first toaster from burning the legs of a plastic doll, and then toasting a gel eye mask, the next three items the viewers could vote on were: chocolate, digestive biscuits, and rubber squishy toy.

The rubber toy won the vote and the new toaster wasted no time filling the kitchen with smoke, and then flames, triggering the fire alarm.

Tubbo rushed to put the fire out with the fire extinguisher, while someone else covered the camera in case someone got hurt, which could be a bannable offence on Twitch.

A clip of the ordeal found its way to Reddit, with the fitting title: ‘You don’t have the best ideas after being live non-stop for 46 days straight,’ and people on social media weren’t too impressed.

‘”Will it toast” segment since you’ve run out of stream ideas… what could possibly go wrong? said Neulbin.

‘The fact I found it impressive they had the forethought to unplug it before using the extinguisher says a lot about my expectations with streamers,’ Fibble A said.

Though Tubbo and the others found it funny, he did wonder if he might get in trouble with Twitch, saying:

‘Am I going to get a TOS [Terms Of Service] warning for that? Because technically it’s recklessness.’

Though Tubbo ended up getting thousands of entertained viewers as a result, it might not have been worth it, as he’s one toaster poorer and might be hearing from Twitch in the coming days.
