19:55 UPDATE: Two Man Utd deals ruled out – but two are on

Manchester United are not in the mix for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic or Bruno Fernandes – but they could still sign two domestic stars.

Contrary to reports, Express Sport understands the Red Devils are not desperate to land the pair, who play for Lazio and Sporting Lisbon respectively.

But they are chasing both Harry Maguire and Sean Longstaff as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues his pursuit of British talent.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James could be followed through the entrance door by the Leicester and Newcastle aces.

19:50 UPDATE: West Ham boost over Celtic

Celtic are at a disadvantage in their quest to sign Emmanuel Adebayor because they are not based in London.

The Sun reckon the former Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Tottenham striker is keen on a return to the capital.

And that means West Ham are in the driving seat to beat Celtic to the recently-released ex-Istanbul Basaksehir ace.

Adebayor has rattled in 97 Premier League goals in a career which also took in a stint at Manchester City.

19:45 UPDATE: Juventus name Joao Cancelo price

Manchester City must chuck £49m the way of Juventus in order to get Joao Cancelo on board for next season.

Pep Guardiola wants the right-back to head to the Etihad in order to give Kyle Walker some competition.

But Tutto Mercato Web indicate Juventus are playing hard-ball and are refusing to sell the defender on the cheap.

The Serie A champions, who have enjoyed a busy summer window, are demanding £49m (€55m) to let Cancelo go.

19:40 UPDATE: Frank Lampard makes exits decision

Chelsea are ready to axe Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater as they trim their squad ahead of the new season.

Frank Lampard is unable to bring in new players due to a transfer ban but is not afraid of casting off any he does not want.

The Daily Mail claim that means he is prepared to wave goodbye to the Bakayoko and Drinkwater, both of whom joined Chelsea in 2017.

The midfield duo have failed to make their mark at Stamford Bridge and were shunned by Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.

19:35 UPDATE: Paulo Dybala issues contract demand

Paulo Dybala wants at least £8m a year to quit Juventus as Manchester United and Tottenham eye him up.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have made the salary claim with speculation surrounding his future rife.

Dybala was pushed down the pecking order by Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at the Allianz Stadium 12 months ago.

And he could now move on to pastures new – but only if he is handed the pay rise he is said to be demanding.

19:30 UPDATE: Liverpool line up new target

Liverpool are interested in prising Idrissa Doumbia away from Sporting Lisbon having been impressed by the midfielder this week.

Doumbia was in action on Thursday night as Sporting and Liverpool played out a 2-2 at the Yankee Stadium in New York.

Portuguese newspaper Record claim his performance put him on the Reds’ radar as they plan to bolster their playing ranks.

However, Liverpool are unlikely to move for 21-year-old Doumbia imminently as they are well-stocked in midfield.

19:00 UPDATE: Doubts over Neymar to Barcelona

Barcelona do not necessarily need to re-sign Neymar because they have Lionel Messi among their ranks.

That is the verdict of former Nou Camp ace Samuel Eto’o, who was at Barcelona as Messi started out in the first-team setup.

Eto’o said: “If Neymar comes we will be happy but having Messi is the best signing of each year. With Messi we score two more and we can win.”

Neymar is desperate to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, with Barcelona top of his list of potential destinations.

18:30 UPDATE: Unai Emery on Nicolas Pepe

Arsenal boss Unai Emery hailed Emirates-bound Nicolas Pepe as he refused to deny the Gunners are closing in on a £72m club-record deal for the Lille frontman.

Pepe is set to swap Ligue 1 for the Premier League and his performances in France have clearly caught Emery’s eye.

“The club is thinking on how we can improve,” said Emery, in the wake of Arsenal’s 2-1 Emirates Cup defeat to Lyon. “There are different players on the table.

“Pepe’s a very good player. We only want players who can really, really improve the squad. We want the best players possible for the first game at Newcastle.”

18:00 UPDATE: Man Utd plan ruined

Manchester United were rejected by Idrissa Gueye after making an eleventh-hour bid to snatch him from under Paris Saint-Germain’s nose.

Gueye is wanted by Thomas Tuchel to shore up his midfield – and it appears United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is an admirer too.

Express Sport can reveal the Senegal international rejected United after they went calling at Everton for him.

Gueye is now on course to join PSG and will be presented on Monday before going on a post-Africa Cup of Nations holiday.
