The trailer for Train To Busan Presents: Peninsula has dropped, and the zombie apocalypse movie promises to be completely terrifying.

Peninsula – the sequel to Train To Busan – sees the zombie apocalypse survivors living in a world of fear, where all rules have been abandoned.

Set four years after the decimation of South Korea in the first instalment, things have only got worse for the survivors.

The synopsis for the movie, directed by Yeon Sang-ho, reads: ‘Four years after South Korea’s total decimation in Train to Busan, Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won), a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive.

‘When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best – or worst – of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.’

Survivors in the movie are played by actress Lee Jung-hyun and Lee Re as well as Kwon Hae-hyo joining the cast.

The trailer is not for the faint of heart, as it has every panic-attack inducing zombie movie trope, from jump-scares to hanging bodies, designed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The dystopian landscape of the decimated remains of South Korea also leaves viewers on edge from the very first scene – and that’s before you even see the hoardes of undead pacing the streets.

Train To Busan Presents: Peninsula is slated for release in August 2020.
