Torso ruching is one of this season’s hottest trends – here are 5 ways to rock it

Don’t you hate it when a fashion trend comes around that you know just won’t suit you? Yanno – those trends that look bloomin’ great on the catwalk but that wouldn’t translate to real life.

It happens far too often for our liking, which is why any flattering-for-all trends get the GLAMOUR stamp of approval in a big way. We want to see trends that we can actually imagine ourselves rocking!

Torso ruching is one of those wonderful trends that has reared its head on catwalks recently. In the past, we’ve seen ruched detailing around the neck and wrists, but the SS20 runways predict that it’ll be all over our torso come spring.

It was seen at Roksanda and Rejina Pyo either running down the centre of the dress or to accentuate the waistline. We also spotted sheer mesh dresses at Supriya Lele with asymmetrical ruching used to elongate the body. Obsessed.

Not only is the torso ruching fashion trendtrend a great way to add texture and shape to an otherwise simple dress, but it immediately makes any piece look high end. What’s not to love?

With that in mind, we took to the high street to whittle down our favourite examples of torso ruching thus far.

Ruched blouses are an ideal way to rock the look, because you can wear them to the office (looking way more put-together than you felt when you got dressed at 7am in the process) then straight out for dinner. Sans quick wardrobe change in the grotty work toilets.

If you’re heading out on the weekend, opt for a cami top with a ruched waistband to really flatter your figure. Torso ruched midi dresses have a similar effect – focusing eyes on the centre of your body and therefore making you appear slimmer. Result!

Here are the best ways to rock the season’s hottest trend of torso ruching.
