Val Kilmer opens up about his relationship status in his upcoming autobiography, it has been reported.
The movie icon says he has been single for the last 20 years, and experiences loneliness every day.
You have to admire his honesty.
Val is the star of films like Top Gun and Batman Forever, and an extract of his 2020 autobiography I’m Your Huckleberry has been shared by People.
‘I haven’t had a girlfriend in 20 years. The truth is I’m lonely a part of every day,’ the 60-year-old writes.
Val is a parent to two kids named Mercedes, 28, and Jack, 24, with ex-wife Joanne Whalley.
Val’s famous exes include actress Angelina Jolie, supermodel Cindy Crawford and Believe singer Cher.
Speaking about his love for women, Val – who’s appearing in this year’s Top Gun movie – added: ‘I’ve always found women infinitely more interesting than men.
‘Perhaps that’s why we’ve always gotten along.
‘We [men] are big oafy elephants… and they are butterflies.’
Val also addresses his 2015 battle with throat cancer in the book, crediting Cher with supporting him through his darkest days.
‘Once Cher works her way inside your head and heart, she never leaves,’ he writes.
‘For her true friends, her steadfast love and loyalty never die.’
