Tony Ganios dead: The Wanderer's and Porky's star dies aged 64 as family left 'shattered'


Tony Ganios, the actor famous for his roles in The Wanderers and ‘Porky’s, has sadly died at the age of 64 following a heart attack after surgery.

His fiancee Amanda announced that Tony died in a New York City hospital on Sunday. It was reported by TMZ that Tony was rushed to the hospital on Saturday due to a severe spinal cord infection.

He underwent surgery but tragically suffered a “fatal heart attack” while recovering and on his way to dialysis treatment.

According to reports, Tony passed away on Sunday morning as he was heading for dialysis, experiencing organ failure.

Amanda shared with the US outlet that Tony’s sudden passing has left her feeling “shattered”.

Today we remember Tony Ganios, who played brilliant roles in The Wanderers, Porky’s and many other films.

He also showcased his diverse talent playing Baker in Die Hard 2 and featuring in Rising Sun.

On hearing the sore news about Ganios, heaps of fans expressed how much they adored him.

A heartfelt tribute from one fan said: “We lost a real one today. Tony Ganios, you will never be forgotten brother. Wanderers Forever.”

Further showing affection for him, another fan added: “Saddened to hear about the passing of Tony Ganios.

“His performance in The Wanderers was both understated and larger than life. Truly unforgettable.”
