Today’s back pages: Gareth Bale’s ‘insult’ to Spain and Harry Maguire’s ‘sick of it’

Toshack slams Bale for ‘insult’ to Spain

Former Real Madrid and Wales manager John Toshack has launched a scathing attack on countryman Gareth Bale.

“Tosh goes Bale-istic” the Daily Star reports with the Liverpool legend saying it’s an insult Bale has not learnt Spanish during his time at the Bernabeu.

Toshack said: “Come out Gareth, do an interview, speak yourself. You’ve been there for six or seven years now – you don’t speak the language. That’s an insult to the people you are working for.”

Bale was last week set for a move to China, but the deal collapsed after Real pulled the plug.

Because of the breakdown of his switch to Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, The Times reports that 30-year-old Bale has been left “too distressed” and has pulled out of Real’s pre-season trip to Munich.

Maguire’s sick of it!

The Sun says that Leicester City defender Harry Maguire missed training yesterday amid reports that he wants to push through a dream move to Manchester United.

England international Maguire is claimed to be furious that a switch to Old Trafford hasn’t gone through. The 26-year-old maintains he had a stomach bug and is expected back at Leicester training today.
