Tiger King: Donald Trump Jr. jokes he would lobby for jailed Joe Exotic's pardon

Donald Trump Jr. joked he would like to see Joe Exotic pardoned from prison just “for the meme”.

The son of the U.S president, 42, declared himself a major fan of Tiger King Netflix series and he even binge-watched the show in two sittings.

He admitted he thought Joe Maldonado-Passage’s 22-year jail sentence for a murder-for-hire plot seemed “too aggressive”.

During an interview with SiriusXM’s The Jim and Sam Show, he was asked whether he would be up for lobbying for a presidential pardon for Exotic.

“Maybe not right now, but I can generally be for this just for the meme,” Trump Jr. joked.

“And just for frankly watching the media reaction to this thing. It would be pretty amazing to ultimately see that.”

As the radio hosts discussed the dramatic Netflix documentary, their guest Donald appeared to raise questions about the length of Joe’s jail sentence.

Donald Trump Jr. suggested that Joe Exotic’s sentence seemed ‘aggressive’

“Now, I don’t even know exactly what he was charged with… I watched the show, but it was like, I don’t know exactly what he was guilty of or wasn’t,” he said on air.

“It doesn’t seem like he was totally innocent of anything. But when they’re saying, ‘We’re putting this guy away for 30 years,’ I’m saying that seems sort of aggressive.”

Exotic was found guilty of attempting to hire a hit man to murder rival Carol Baskin in 2019.

He has been serving a 22-year prison sentence for animal abuse and murder for hire.
