Thomas Tuchel sends Arsenal a warning as he compares Man Utd to French minnows

Furious Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has compared Manchester United to French minnows Guingamp ahead of their clash with Arsenal on Sunday.

The Ligue 1 champions were stunned as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s injury-hit side defied the odds to dump them out of the Champions League in midweek.

The Red Devils will now head into a huge Premier League showdown with their top four rivals on Sunday full of confidence.

Yet Tuchel has blasted United’s tactics in Wednedsay’s dramatic win and downplayed their historic achievement.

Thomas Tuchel compared Man Utd to Ligue 1 minnows Guingamp

“After the second goal, we controlled the match, we played with a lot of quality,” Tuchel told RMC Sport .

“We react well to the first goal we gave them. We had a lot of chances but we did not score the second, or the third.

“Aside from that, with not even a chance, with not even anything they get a second goal. The second goal turned the match completely in our heads.

Man Utd had the last laugh at the Parc des Princes

‘In the second half, they didn’t have a single chance.

“I have the same feeling now as I did after our defeat to Guingamp in the Coupe de la Ligue, it was impossible to lose and we lost with three penalties.

“Today, I never had the impression that Manchester United wanted to win here. We lost but we controlled the whole game.

“They won, congratulations to them, but I have no explanation as to how they won.”

Marcus Rashford’s late penalty stunned Tuchel’s side

A last-gasp Marcus Rashford penalty – awarded by a controversial VAR call – put United through to the quarter-finals on away goals.

Tuchel was referencing a 2-1 cup defeat to Guingamp in his comments, where the Parisian side were unable to make their dominance of the game count against lower quality opposition.

His United counterpart Solskjaer will have no complaints about the way they booked their place in the next round, however, and the Red Devils are still on cloud nine ahead of their weekend trip to the Emirates.
