My skin is decidedly normal. I get the occasional breakout, the occasional dry patch, the occasional T-zone shine. But 320 days of the year, everything is just the same.
It’s a blessing, especially with my job as a beauty editor. My middle-of-the-road skin type can tolerate some of the most intense products because I’m not prone to irritation, and I can try multiple products in one week without worrying about a flare-up.
However, choosing moisturisers is a bit like playing the Goldilocks game. Those formulated for dry skin are too greasy. Those made with acne-prone skin in mind leave my face feeling parched. I need something in the middle, and Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream is just right.

The product has a mix of Alaskan glacier water, which is naturally packed with minerals, and Iceland moss extract, which helps reduce inflammation. There’s also a proprietary blend of peptides to boost collagen production. The texture is a gel-cream that is popular with many K-beauty brands, of which Saturday Skin is one.
This water-based moisturiser is perfect for those with skin that’s not too particular, like mine. However, it also works for oily and dry skin, too. “They’re the best of both worlds, with the weight that comes with being a gel and the cushion of a moisturiser,” cosmetic chemist Ginger King previously told Allure. “They are suitable for most skin types.”
In the jar, it looks like a milky gel. When applied to the skin, it disappears completely, leaving my face with a layer of moisture that comes off dewy but doesn’t feel too heavy under sunscreen. In fact, it plays well with all the skincare products I’ve cocktailed it with, which is an important trait for any moisturiser in a beauty editor’s arsenal.
Be forewarned: This watery cream also does a disappearing act if you leave it in a room that is too warm (like my radiator-heated bedroom). It’s best stored in a cool, dry area so it doesn’t evaporate — and, believe me, you’ll want to preserve every last drop.
