The WORST baby names of 2019 – including Chardonnay, Khaleesi and Danger

GAME of Throne characters, a well-known wine and cult leader-inspired names are the most questionable ones chosen by parents this year, it’s been revealed.

Global parenting site Parents.com ranked the worst baby names of the year so far – including Manson for boys, the surname of notorious cult leader Charles Manson.

Among the unusual monikers picked in 2019 were Cub for a little lad, Mattel for a girl, as in the Barbie manufacturer, and the old classic Chardonnay.

The parenting site also slammed Starlett, saying it sounds like a “porn star name”, and Any, joking mums and dads should “aim higher”.

They also put Khaleesi the dragon queen firmly on the ‘no list’.

The writer said: “Admittedly, Khaleesi used to be on the hot baby name list — but my guess is that there’s a lot of Khaleesi baby name regret going on after that shocking Game of Thronescharacter turn.”

Mocking a variety of awkwardly spelt names, Parents.com added: “These are the baby names we hope not to see on next year’s most popular list for the sake of both society and your kid’s future first-grade teacher who will have to memorise how to spell it.”

Bizarrely, some parents even chose lads’ names like Pinches, Danger and Stylez, which “sounds like a cheesy ’90s boy band that didn’t make it big”.

While girls were given a lifetime of regret with names like Shy, Vegas and Cyncere, because there’s nothing ideal about misspelling a virtue name.
