The official synopsis for the episode describes how “still paranoid Alexandrians get riled up over the Whisperers and take their fear out on Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).”

And the promo for the episode shows Lydia (Cassidy McClincy) out patrolling with Daryl (Norman Reedus) as they walk past a door spray painted with the word: ‘Silence the Whisperers’.

Lydia is then seen telling someone: “I’m not just going to smile and take it.”

Later in the promo, things appear to descend into all out war as the Whisperers lead a herd of walkers to Hilltop’s doorstep.

According to the synopsis, an “unexpected safety issue” threatens them more than ever before.

The Whisperers have waged a reign of terror around Alexandria this season.

The locals had their hunting ground taken from them with the Whisperers forcing them into obeying them and Alpha (Samantha Morton) proving relentless in her quest for power.

Carol’s son Henry (Matt Lintz) wound up beheaded with his head on a spike after The Whisperers took out ten residents.

But with an appetite for revenge brewing, could The Whisperers be about to get a taste of their own deadly medicine?

Norman Reedus recently teased that there are some huge shocks ahead.

“This season’s fricking crazy. It’s so good this season, he said. “There are things that are gonna happen this season that are mind-blowing, and the sets are huge, it’s just nuts.

He continued: Everybody on our crew, who have been there for 10 years, are freaking out over this season. And they’re kinda hard to phase, ‘cause they’re there every single day, but it’s nuts.”
