The first trailer for Marvel's Black Widow is here and it's about to be the kickass female movie of 2020

Plans for 2020: Combat climate change, start going to the gym, watch a LOT of incredible movies.

And there’s certainly no rest for Marvel fans right now, as we’ve finally just got our first look at the trailer for the upcoming Black Widow film.

Released in the UK on May 1 2020, the standalone movie has obsessives hooked before it’s even hit screens, featuring an incredible female line-up including Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh and Rachel Weisz.

Scarlett has already played her character, Natasha Romanoff, in a series of other Marvel movies, and The Avengers movies, including the highest grossing film this year, End Game. But now, as well as returning to her much-loved assassin persona, she’ll also be an executive producer on the film, alongside female director, Cate Shortland.

While fans are anxiously waiting to hear the whole plot line, the actress did drop hints at Comic-Con in July, where she described Natasha’s story:
“Where we find Natasha in her life at this point is very specific…she really is in a dark place where she’s got no one to call and nowhere to go. She’s really grappling with her own self…in that moment, you actually have to face yourself.”

However, based on the trailer alone, some people think they have already managed to suss the ending of the movie, with a glimpse of Florence Pugh’s character, Yelena Belova (the sister of Natasha), sat at a table wearing a *very* familiar jacket – the same jacket Natasha wore in Infinity War – a trend, or is there something darker going on here? With Black Widow set in the past, it’s a definite possibility.

Fans have waited a long time for a Black Widow stand-alone movie, with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige initially mentioning its creation way back in 2010, and with Scarlett being the latest Avengers hero to get a stand-alone movie, this is set to be truly epic.

Other notable characters include Stranger Things’ David Harbour as Red Guardian and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.
