The COS Quilted Bag Is As Good As The Fashion Pack Claim

I know a good accessory when I see it, and the COS quilted bag is one of them. The trouble is, it comes in several hues, fabrics and sizes – so, if you’re like me and will buy something in every colour if you like it, apologies to your bank balance in advance.

Usually when a new ‘it’ bag comes around (think: The Row’s Margaux, a Kendall Jenner, Zoë Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jennifer Lawrence favourite), it’s accompanied by a four-digit price tag. But not this one.

Where the designer market has previously reigned, the high-street is now on its heels with more affordable designs gaining the attention of the fashion pack instead. Case in point: the Uniqlo crossbody bag/round mini shoulder bag.

Starting at £35 for the micro version, the COS quilted bag is the fun younger sister to the brand’s crossbody bag (another viral favourite). Its puffy, half-moon silhouette and hold-all capacity are two of my favourite features, but the fact that it’s made from recycled materials makes it a total winner.

You’ve likely seen it on your Instagram feed with virtually every influencer (and even Blackpink‘s Jennie) as fans, and it’s been dominating my TikTok FYP for months thanks to the hashtag #cosquiltedbag cultivating over 35 million views, but with a new arrival shades to discover every few months it can be hard to keep up, let alone decide which one to buy.

First debuting in the AW23 collection in everything from beige, dark blue and light blue to bright turquoise and lilac, the buttery soft leather bag iteration is everyone’s current pick. Retaining the signature pillowy, cloud-like texture, it’s designed to tuck neatly under your shoulder and is shaped to fit your phone, keys and water bottle, with a zip closure pocket to the cotton lining for your valuables.
