Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher oozed body confidence in her latest Instagram post.
The actress, who turned 55 this week, stripped down to her bikini to show off the results of an eight week fitness challenge online.
The television star, who famously played the role of Superman’s love interest Lois Lane in the 1990s TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, shared the “liberating” bikini snap alongside a lengthy post after finally feeling comfortable in her own skin.
In the pictures, which the mum-of-one shared with her 373,000 Instagram followers, Teri can be seen striking a pose in a stylish string bikini.
The khaki green two-piece showed off her phenomenal figure to perfection.
Teri posted two snaps on the social media site, one from the front and one from the back, which showcased her body from all angles.
Her toned arms and torso as well as pert derriere were on full display in the snaps.
Alongside the picture, Teri told her followers: “Exercise has become a source of well being not a means to look good naked.”
She went on to explain the reason why she shared the image, adding: “As part of my @f45_training 8 week challenge we had to submit an after photo.
“So why actually post a pic of myself in a bikini? Well, this is my truth and being in this 55 year old body actually feels liberating.”
According to their website, F45 Training is a global fitness community that specialises in high-intensity workouts.
Reflecting on her age as well as the results of her training, Teri continued: “Age allows you to be clear on your purpose and cherish who and what you are grateful for,” she admitted it made her “make the most of every moment.”
The fresh-faced actress proudly announced: “I’ve finally figured out how to be comfortable in my own skin.”
Teri, who is mum to 22-year-old Coraline actress Emerson Tenney, signed off her post by saying she felt strong and “open to life.”
She wrote: “Sharing myself in a bikini (which I may or may not ever wear again) Is me Being open to others, open to life… finding glorious connection and community.
