Tana Ramsay has been reflecting on the premature birth of her twin children Jack and Holly, now 20, while sharing sweet throwbacks of her kids in their younger years.

Gordon Ramsay’s wife took to Instagram with precious snaps of Jack and Holly as babies and another of them as youngsters all dressed up, as she addressed fans about the worries she had after giving birth to them early.

Tana and Gordon welcomed Jack and Holly prematurely in 2000 and she admits, at first, it was incredibly ‘nerve-wracking’.

Opening up alongside her throwbacks on Instagram, Tana revealed: ‘Each Christmas as a family we reflect back on the year we have had – looking back to when we were coming up for Jack and Holly’s first Christmas it was especially poignant.’

She continued: ‘The development of a premature baby is incredibly nerve wracking when it is an uncertain start and you want to see them grow and thrive yet not wish away the first moments.’

Commenting on how far her two kids have come since their early days, Tana told her followers: ‘Seeing them become little chubby, healthy babies within the first year was a true blessing and I will always be grateful for the determination they showed and their feisty characters.’

‘Although as the years passed they certainly gave me plenty of battles,’ she joked, before adding on a more serious note: ‘Yet this is what I wished for when they were laying in incubators looking so vulnerable.’

She shared her post in partnership with baby brand Pampers UK, in a bid to raise funds for neonatal units.

Tana, 46, shares five children with celebrity chef husband Gordon; Megan, 22, Jack and Holly, 20, Matilda, 19, and one-year-old son Oscar.

Oscar was born in 2018, two years after Tana had a miscarriage in 2016.

She was recently seen praising Chrissy Teigen for publicly sharing that she had lost her third child – a baby boy named Jack – at 20-weeks pregnant, after experiencing complications.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk about her own experience with miscarriage, Tana said: ‘I have to be honest when it happened to me, I found it really hard when people would talk to me and not mention it because it was like it never happened.

‘All I wanted to do was talk about it with friends, with family, with anyone who asked me about it because it was incredibly hard. You go from having a baby kicking inside of you to suddenly it’s not there, and it was a really hard experience.’
