Manchester City take on Championship side Swansea in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup as they continue to eye an historic quadruple.

With the League Cup already ticked off, City have three more trophies to go as they juggle the demands of European and domestic football. Standing in their way today is a Swansea side which is aiming to reach the third FA Cup semi-final in the club’s history. The Welsh outfit stand 15th in the Championship but are unbeaten in seven games at the Liberty Stadium.

Swans manager Graham Potter has urged his men to believe they can pull off a famous shock, saying “anything can happen”. Stranger things have happened.

Roberts gets the ball on the right, he plays it inside to Routledge who gives it to Celina. Routledge runs into the box and gets the ball back off Celina but gets the ball tangled in his feet and City take it off him.

Sane runs the ball to the byline on the left, he flicks it across the box to the box post where Bernardo collects the ball and shoots… but Nordfeldt dives to his right and pushes the ball away.

Good defending from James. Man City break and Bernardo sends the ball to Mahrez, Mahrez holds onto it as Walker runs into the box, the ball is slipped into him but James pushes him off the ball and Nordfeldt collects.

Swansea defend well aganist Man City’s corners but they can’t move the ball out of their own half fluidly. James gets sent down the left with a long ball and runs it forward before giving it to Celina. Celina takes too many touches and loses the ball. 


6 mins: Swansea 0 – 0 Man City

 

Sane runs the ball into the box, dips his shoulder and fires a shot at Nordfeldt. The ball comes off the keeper and Mahrez heads the ball wide.


3 mins: Swansea 0 – 0 Man City 

 

Swansea look to press Man City high up the pitch but City play the ball around their defence with ease. Bernardo Silva sends the ball long to Kyle Walker on the overlap and he wins a corner.

Leicester went down to 10-men in the first five minutes but Burnley can’t capitalise on their fortune and Morgan nicked a winner in the final minutes.

Matt Ritchie scored a last grasp equaliser for Newcastle in a hard fought contest at the Vitality Stadium after Bournemouth thought they’d claimed the three points.

The ball comes into Hernandez on the far post. There’s no-one near him and he heads the ball into the goal and West Ham are level!

Bournemouth thought they were in front but Dummett makes an overhead kick clearance to clear the ball off the line for Newcastle. What a clearance!

Charlie Taylor runs into the box with the ball, he cuts in front of Ndidi who looks to have brought him down but the referee waves to play on. No penalty!
