Wigan Warriors fought back to consign Super League’s bottom side London Broncos to a seventh straight defeat.

The Broncos took a narrow lead into the break after Jay Pitts responded to Jake Shorrocks’ opening try for the hosts.

A handling error from Elliot Kear allowed Chris Hankinson to run in an easy score to put Wigan back in front.

Morgan Escare touched down a kick from George Williams before James Cunningham dropped a fine chance to reduce the arrears with five minutes to go.

Defeat means the Broncos remain two points adrift at the bottom of the table.

They seemed to be in the ascendency against a far from fluent Wigan side but Kear’s mistake handed the Warriors an easy try and with it the match momentum.

Despite their largely indifferent performance, Wigan have now won their past three matches and only conceded one try in their past two outings.

They face Warrington in the Challenge Cup next Sunday, while the Broncos have a week off after being knocked out of the Cup in the fifth round by Championship side Halifax.
