Sunday Brunch: Tim Lovejoy red-faced as he apologises to Ann Widdecombe for guest’s swipe

Tim Lovejoy, 51, and Simon Rimmer, 56, were back on hand to present another edition of Sunday Brunch and as usual, they were joined by a plethora of guests. Even before the Channel 4 show had properly begun, former Conservative MP Gyles Brandreth, 71, was causing chaos with his unprecedented remarks. It wasn’t until he joined the hosts in the studio kitchen did the guest take a swipe at Brexit party member, Ann Widdecombe, 71.

As Tim asked Gyles about his latest television projects, including a guest appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox, the former MP left the host red-faced when he make a quip about his fellow sofa surfer Sheila Hancock, 86.

The guest joked his dear friend had got “f***y flutters” whilst recording the special episodes of the hit Channel 4 programme.

Presenter Tim had to apologise for Gyles’ untoward remarks before going on to ask him about his upcoming projects.

Gyles revealed he had been approached by producers to work on a project with Widdecombe and took a cheeky swipe at the former Conservative party member.
