Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Fans demand BBC release Dev and Dianne's exit vote results

Strictly Come Dancing fans have launched a petition in hopes of forcing the BBC to release the voting results from Sunday night’s results show after Dev Griffin and Dianne Buswell were sent home.

The Radio One DJ and his pro dance partner were voted off the show but viewers were left shocked at their surprise exit so early on in the competition.

Fans were especially not happy when the duo ended up in the bottom two, performing the dance-off against Viscountess Emma Weymouth and her pro partner Aljaz Skorjanec.

Many viewers took to social media to share there disbelief as the news left the audience and their fellow competitors surprised when their names were called out.

Dianne was seen holding onto Dev as she broke down in tears on the dance floor during their last dance together, before being consoled by the other contestants when they flocked to the dance floor.

The online petition accuses the Strictly judges of scoring the pair irrationally and claims that the “voting phone lines failed” for some contestants and not others, which they believe resulted in the shock dance-off.

At least 200 people have called for the BBC to release each contestant vote volumes and to assure the public that they “do not seek to influence results in any way”.

The petition states: “Meanwhile, the judges on the night seemed to be ignoring all technical competence of celeb contestants and handing out scores randomly, most likely at the demand of the producers, to keep the less talented dancers in the competition.”

“Strictly is a national institution and its viewers deserve not to have their intelligence insulted in this way.

Opening up about about the saga Joe revealed during Monday’s episode of Lorraine, his girlfriend hasn’t taken the news well.

“What did happen?” he asked Lorraine, clearly as confused as the fans.

“Like the rest of the country it’s a massive shock. I’m Absolutely gutted for Dev and Dianne.”

When Lorraine asked if Dianne was ok, Joe confessed: “No, not really. I really don’t think it should have been them to go.

“He was brilliant, he was an amazing student. It doesn’t seem… it’s weird,” he said

Following Sunday’s show, Dianne shared an emotional and heartfelt tribute to Dev: “My heart is broken,” she began.

“This guy had so much to give and worked sooooo hard I’m so sorry your journey was cut short you have done me so proud, every week you would say you just didn’t want to let me down!”

“Dev you sooo didn’t you were a dream to teach and you were turning into such a great dancer thank you so much for everything.”

Dev also posted a similar tribute: “It’s been incredible! I wish I could have stayed a bit longer but sadly my strictly ride has come to an end.

“Thank you to all of the production team, wardrobe, make up, crew, pro dancers and celebs for looking after me and being like family to me these past few weeks,” he stated.
