Stephanie Davis’ ex-boyfriend bags a role in Emmerdale

Stephanie Davis’ ex-boyfriend has been cast in a role on Emmerdale.

Model Sam Reece, who dated the Hollyoaks star before she met Jeremy McConnell, shocked viewers when he made an appearance on Thursday night’s episode of the soap as part of a couple who got up to some naugthy antics in the B&B.

The reality star sent ITV producers a three-line audition clip, and in the process ended up bagging a starring role.

“I’d never had a speaking part [on TV] before,” he told Mail Online.

“My modelling agent called me up and said there was a part going in Emmerdale and he wanted me to send over a casting tape.”

Sam revealed that he was in the salon when he got the call that producers wanted him on-screen.

“I dropped everything and went outside, lent my phone against a wall and filmed myself performing three lines.

“I sent it over and was offered the part straight away! I was booked in to film four scenes over two days.

“I think I read the wrong lines in my audition time,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sam might be frustrated he didn’t bag a role on Corrie or EastEnders instead considering they both managed to bag BAFTA nominations this year.

The beloved show has been left out of the Best Soap and Continuing Drama category, and some of its biggest stars aren’t happy.

The likes of James Hooton and Michelle Hardwick have taken to social media to make their feelings known.

Re-tweeting the list of nominations, Emmerdale’s James Hooton – who plays Sam Dingle – wrote: “Where’s Emmerdale?”
