Star Wars: ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ cast reveal how they feel about the ending

With only a matter of weeks to go before the new Star Wars saga comes to an end once and for all, the cast of The Rise of Skywalker have started to tease how they feel about this goodbye.

While Disney notoriously keep all spoilers under wraps, and with such ardent fans to answer to in case of any slip ups, this generation’s actors is having some fun teasing the possibilities.

In a livestream broadcast by the Star Wars YouTube channel, the team behind the new film were asked to share reactions about the film’s ending (21:30 in). The catch was that everyone had to use only facial expressions.

Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Kelly Marie Tran, Keri Russell, Anthony Daniels and Naomi Ackie were the present cast members, alongside director JJ Abrams.

Shock, sadness, and some kind of mocking contempt from Daniels – but with such a long history within the franchise, the actor has been known to have a joke. “After 40 years… is that it?” he said.

Last week, the first action-packed clip from the film was released, while Abrams also confirmed the film’s run time: 2 hours 21 minutes, as the final cut was reached only two weeks ago.

Tickets for Episode 9 went on sale when the official trailer was released on October 22. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in cinemas on December 20 2019.
