1. Solskjaer has no doubts
Under-pressure Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes he is the right man to be at the wheel of the Old Trafford club.
Ahead of tonight’s Premier League clash at home against Arsenal, United sit 11th in the table with eight points from six matches.
When asked about his future the Norwegian said: “I’m not doubting myself, no. If I doubt myself then the rest of the world would as well.
“We have loads of discussions. We believe in what we are doing.”

2. McIlroy ‘sick’ of European Tour courses
Northern Irish golf star Rory McIlroy does not believe that the European Tour’s courses are tough enough.
After finishing in a tie for 26th at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship with a score of 15-under the world No.2 said: “I’m honestly sick of coming back over to the European Tour, shooting 15 under par and finishing 30th.
“I don’t think the courses are set up hard enough. There are no penalties for bad shots, and it’s tough when you come back when it’s like that. I don’t feel like good golf is regarded as well as it could be.
“It happened at the Scottish Open, as well, at the Renaissance. I finished 13 under and finished no better than 30th again, so it’s not a good test.
“I think if the European Tour want to put forth a really good product, the golf courses and setups need to be tougher.”
3. 24,790 watch WSL London derby
The FA Women’s Super League (WSL) clash between West Ham and Tottenham was watched by a crowd of 24,790 at the London Stadium yesterday – the second largest attendance in the league’s history. Spurs won 2-0 against their London rivals with Rianna Dean and Lucy Quinn on the scoresheet.
4. Toon display ‘not unacceptable’
Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles admits that the team’s performance in the 5-0 thrashing at Leicester City yesterday was “terrible”. Speaking to Sky Sports after the Premier League clash Lascelles said: “It was terrible from the boys and we have no one but ourselves to blame. Leaking four goals even with ten men is not good enough and it’s just not acceptable.”
5. Wilder vs. Ortiz II confirmed
It has been confirmed that WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will defend his title in a rematch against Luis Ortiz in Las Vegas on 23 November. Unbeaten American Wilder, who is tipped to face Tyson Fury in 2020, said of Ortiz: “He has to be perfect for 12 rounds. I only have to be perfect for two. I’m blessed with the gift of power.”
6. Wales’s special win against the Wallabies
Wales beat Australia 29-25 in a Rugby World Cup thriller yesterday. If rugby union fans thought life couldn’t get any better after Japan’s breathtaking defeat of Ireland 24 hours earlier, Wales and the Wallabies then served up a classic in Tokyo. Declaring it a “pretty special match”, Wales head coach Warren Gatland said: “The boys are battered in the changing room. It was a real tight match and those are the ones that we have lost in the past.”

7. Three Barrett brothers selected for the All Blacks
Rugby World Cup holders New Zealand have picked three brothers in their starting XV for the pool B clash against Canada on Wednesday. Beauden, Jordie and Scott Barrett will make history by becoming the first trio of brothers to play for the All Blacks in a World Cup fixture.

8. Southgate is Tottenham’s ‘No.1 choice’
If Mauricio Pochettino leaves Tottenham Hotspur then the north London outfit will look to Gareth Southgate as his replacement. That’s the bombshell dropped by the Daily Mirror, which claims that the England manager is the “No.1 choice” to replace Argentine Pochettino.

9. Hamilton: incredible day for Mercedes
Mercedes took advantage of Ferrari’s team order controversy to secure a one-two at the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix yesterday. Following Sebastian Vettel’s refusal to follow Ferrari’s orders, and his later retirement, Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas finished ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in Sochi. Hamilton, who is now 73 points clear in the drivers’ standings, said: “Just an incredible day for the team considering the challenges that we’ve had. Those guys [Ferrari] are still quite dominant at the moment so it’s taken quite a special job from us to come out ahead of them.”

10. Silver for Dina in Doha
It was “Dina’s silver lining” last night in Doha after Dina Asher-Smith finished second in the 100m final at the IAAF World Athletics Championships.
The 23-year-old became the first British woman sprinter to win an individual world medal in 36 years. She took silver behind Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who won in a time of 10.71 seconds.
Recording a personal best of 10.83, a new British record, Asher-Smith told the BBC: “I have worked so hard for these championships and hopefully I’ll go on to do even bigger things.”
