Spider-Man Far From Home runtime: How long is Spider-Man 2 – full runtime REVEALED

Spider-Man Far From Home has, so far, been well received by those lucky enough to attend pre-release screenings. Critics’ full thoughts on the Spider-Man sequel will be available later today (June 27) when the reviews embargo is lifted. But for now, one salient detail many Marvel fans are excitedly waiting for is for how long they’ll be sitting in the cinema.

What is the runtime of Spider-Man: Far From Home?

According to the British Board of Film Classification, Spider-Man: Far From Home has a runtime of 129 minutes.

This two hours and 19 minutes also takes into account Marvel Studios intro, credits, and mid and post-credits scenes and is a far cry from Avengers: Endgame’s three hours.

In fact, Spider-Man: Far From Home is the shortest Phase Three movie, as well as the last.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot how the Spider-Man: Far From Home runtime proves a heartwarming theory.

SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME TRAILER: NEW SPIDER-MAN TRAILER BREAKS RECORD

In Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark’s daughter Morgan says I love you three thousand to her father.

Fans were quick to realise that when you add Spider-Man: Far From Home’s runtime to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe screentime it equals – you guessed it – three thousand minutes.

In all likelihood, Spider-Man: Far From Home’s credits were edited to hit the exact right runtime.

This means the film that director Jon Watts had in mind wouldn’t be impacted by the time constraint.

AVENGERS ENDGAME: SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME TEASES MULTIVERSE

At Sony, where Spider-Man Far From Home is technically made (though loaned out to Marvel for the Avengers movies), the sequel is the second shortest Spider-Man movie ever.

Spider-Man (2002) ran 121 minutes, with Spider-Man 2 at 127 minutes and Spider-Man 3 at 139 minutes.

Amazing Spider-Man was 136 minutes while Amazing Spider-Man 2 ran 142 minutes.

The new iteration starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker began with Spider-Man: Homecoming, which ran 133 minutes.

SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME: IS MYSTERIO AKA MR BECK A VILLAIN?

As for Avengers: Endgame, the longest Marvel movie is about to get longer.

The rerelease headed to cinemas tomorrow, June 28, will clock in at 188 minutes.

Endgame’s initial box office release was 182 minutes, or three hours and two minutes long.

The rerelease will have bonus features such as a tribute, a Spider-Man Far From Home teaser, and deleted scene featuring the Hulk.

Spider-Man Far From Home is out in cinemas on July 2, 2019.
