KEIR Starmer was mocked last night for promising to lower immigration – without a plan.

The Labour leader will give a speech on Tuesday in which he will pledge to deliver higher wages and lower migration by “finally making work pay.”

But Tory party chairman Richard Holden accused Sir Keir of saying what he thinks people want to hear rather than putting forward “credible plans”.

He added: “In short, Labour have no plan to stop the boats, no plans beyond endless borrowing and debt, and no plan to be honest with the public.”

Sir Keir is also sending his top team on a tour the Red Wall seats lost in 2019 and will declare: “My Labour Party is ready to serve.”

It comes as Danish Immigration minister Kaare Dybvad Bek issued a warning to Starmer over handling the issue.

The ruling Social Democrats party clamped down hard on immigration to woo working-class voters.

He said: “If you want to be a party of the working class and middle class, you have to ensure that migration has a manageable level.”

Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper vows to axe the Rwanda Bill deterrent if she gets into power, even if it works.

She blasted: “How many more blank cheques will Rishi Sunak write before the Tories come clean about this scheme being a total farce?”
