Sunday Brunch presenters Simon Rimmer, 56, and Tim Lovejoy, 51, have told fans they are “sad” to learn they will not be hosting the live Channel 4 show this morning amid coronavirus fears. The show announced today’s episode has been taken off air on Twitter, just minutes before its scheduled start time.

In view of the show’s 378,000 Twitter followers, a statement reads: “We are sad to say that Sunday Brunch will not be on this morning as billed.

“We put the health and safety of our team above all else and cannot at this time record the show without risk to our presenters and crew.

“We very much hope to be back live on Sundays soon.”

“Ahh that’s understandable but so sad,” a third added.

Other fans suggested the show should air the duo’s best bits from over the years to keep them entertained.

The show’s decision not to air today comes after the government urged people to stay at home in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

As of 9am today, 233 patients in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.
