THE glaring error was picked up on by a member of the public before it went viral after being shared online.

The image showed a picture of the popular 18g Protein Pudding’s on a supermarket shelf, with a large “price drop” sign hanging below.

But what people soon noticed was the deal being offered by Asda for the healthy puddings.

Currently listed at £2.50 each, customers were expecting a sweet deal on the GetPro 20g Protein Mousse Chocolate Flavour 200g.

But the special offer sign had crossed out the original pricing as replaced it with the exact same £2.50 listing.

The clear mistake had shoppers in stitches online after a photo of the supermarket’s howler was posted to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook.

“From 2.50 reduced to 2.50,” read the caption from a group member.

It left fellow users highly amused, with some even making their own jokes on the situation.

“Cost of living is so out of control that prices staying the same is now considered a sale lol,” laughed one.

“Cracking offer I’ll have 10 at the special price !!!!!” remarked another.

A third person said: “Such a bargain!! Has to be the best I’ve seen.”

One person even pointed out that it was more concerning how a member of staff had left it up without noticing.

“The worrying part is one of the employees actually put this up without questioning,” they said.

Shoppers were also left in stitches after a bargain shop decided to sell Prime energy drinks for just 50p each.

BrandMax in Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire, was flogging the bottled drink at a major discount as customers joke that “no one wants to buy them”.

Asda also found themselves being mocked by shoppers after a huge mistake was spotted on a mum birthday card in-store.

The card, which was priced up at £2.50, left people questioning whether it was even serious and if “quality control” had even been used.
