The Super Bowl 2020 half time performance nearly couldn’t get any better – until we realised Shakira was wearing the same outfit as her Zootopia character.
The singer was on fire as she belted out some of her hits like She Wolf and Whenever Wherever wearing an incredible all-red, sparkling outfit, even complete with red boots.
At first, it looked like a dress, or skirt and top, but Shakira, 43, shed some layers as her performance went on until at one point it looked like exactly the same outfit as her Zootopia character, Gazelle, as Just Jared pointed out.
The animated 2016 Disney film, which Shakira stars in alongside the likes of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, and Idris Elba among many others, tells the story of an unlikely duo, a rabbit police officer and con artist fox trying to uncover a criminal conspiracy.
Gazelle is a singer who uses her voice to promote peace, and she wears a sparkly red crop top and skirt with matching sparkly red boots.
Surely Shakira’s Super Bowl getup was modeled on this?
Shakira took to the stage for her own solo performance and was then joined by Jennifer Lopez, 50.
Singing a powerful duet with her 11-year-old daughter Emme, J Lo took a trip down memory lane with hits Born in The USA and Let’s Get Loud while Shakira was on the drums.
Then Shakira joined J Lo once more as they sang together for the finale.
The pair continued to belt out Let’s Get Loud and then sang Shakira’s Waka Waka while dancing like absolute queens.
Seriously if only we could master some of those moves.
By this time Shakira had changed her outfit again. Of course.
For her performance with J Lo, she donned a gold outfit, again with plenty of sparkle and matching gold boots.
We can’t find any Disney characters this is linked to though.
