Sex therapist shares most common bedroom issue she's asked about by clients


If you’ve been struggling in the bedroom department with your partner, you’re most certainly not alone.

And if you thought you were dealing with a rather rare situation, it turns out, you’re probably not.

A sex therapist has revealed that many of her clients share the same issues and there’s one problem that’s particularly common among men and another one for women.

Australian ‘intimacy whisperer’ Pauline Ryeland sees around 100 clients and says that the most frequently discussed topic during their sessions tends to be either the loss of libido or the loss of erections.

Speaking to news.com.au she said: “The predominant thing with women is loss of libido. Also not experiencing orgasms or only occasionally.

“For men, it’s erections — losing them, not maintaining them or premature ejaculation.”

Ryeland goes on to confess that the cause of both often comes down to the person being stressed and caught up in their own thoughts.

She believes many people feel as if they have to do certain things during sex and while they’re busy completing this checklist, they’re actually breaking the natural flow of the act.

“A bloke may be hoping he doesn’t lose his erection. She could wondering whether she will have an orgasm, and it creates all this tension and space,” Ryeland continued.

“People are too busy doing sex instead of experiencing sex.”

The expert went on to explain that she recommends trying a technique called ‘somatic sexual bodywork’, which involves teaching the body to “rewire itself, connecting the brain to the genitalia”.

She adds: “When you let go of outcome, like orgasm, your natural sexual energy starts to move a lot more and then sexual energy can move naturaly. Then you can become orgasmic.”
