Seth Rogen launches his own cannabis brand

The actor and director Evan Goldberg have been working on houseplant for five years

Seth Rogen has launched his own cannabis brand.

The actor has been working on the company, called Houseplant, with Superbad producer Evan Goldberg for half a decade.

The pair co-founded the brand, which is based in Toronto, with Canopy Growth Corp (CGC), a licensed producer of cannabis. CGC owns a 25 percent stake in Houseplant and will help Rogen and Goldberg with facilities and infrastructure to aid the growth of the drug.

In a statement, Rogen said: “We have been working on this quietly for years and seeing everything come together is a dream come true. We could not be more passionate about this company and are dedicated to doing everything the right way. It is extremely important to us to treat cannabis with the reverence it deserves. What a time!”

Strains sold by the company include Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid. You can watch some promotional videos for Houseplant on the official Instagram page.

At present, Houseplant is only available in Canada. There are said to be no plans to expand into the US at the moment.

Meanwhile, Rogen is working on a spoof Fyre Festival film with The Lonely Island. The comedians began teasing the project back in 2017, with Rogen tweeting that they were writing a movie about a festival going “horribly wrong”.

He added: “For real, thinking about suing #FyreFestival for stealing our idea.”

The Lonely Island’s Jorma Taccone gave an update on the movie earlier this year, saying the two camps were “figuring it out right now.”
