Saturday Night Live: Jennifer Lopez strips out of a tuxedo and into her iconic green Versace gown

Jennifer Lopez made a splash when she hit the stage at Rockefeller Center’s Studio 8H in New York City as host of tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Live, that also included DaBaby as the musical guest.

There were several sketches that played off Lopez’s seemingly age-defying face and figure that garnered a number of high-octane laughs.

And in a move that harks back to one of her most iconic moments in her career, the triple-threat star also showed off her famous curves in the opening monologue decked out in that iconic green Versace gown that she originally wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000.

Lopez first came out for the monologue dressed in a three-piece black tuxedo and bow-tie.

With the holidays and the new year in mind, she reminisced about how thankful she is for her wildly successful 2019.

‘First off I got what every girl from the Bronx dreams of: proposed to by a Yankee (Alex Rodriguez).

She then laid out her others blessings this year that included having a hit movie with Hustlers, a sold out tour, how she ‘slayed The Met Gala, and landed the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show.

It was at this point that she referred to the Versace dress.

‘I walked the runway in Milan for the first time wearing a dress I wore 20 years ago,’ she said. ‘Now some people say I look better now than I did then. And I’m not bragging, that’s just, you know, gossip.’

She ended the long list of blessings by mentioning she celebrated her big 50th birthday this year, which jokingly sparked a man’s head to explode in the audience.

After adding, ‘The best is yet to come,’ the Bronx native broke out into a version of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town with the help of The Rockettes.

In the final moments of the song, while covered up by the legendary dancers, Lopez reappeared in the Versace gown.

In one of the standout sketches, Kenan Thompson played Beeker Cheeks, host of HGTV’s Surprise Home Makeover Holiday Edition. In it, Lopez and SNL castmember Mickey Day played married couple, Jaclyn and Matt, winners of the surprise home makeover.

The triple-threat star stunned when she opened the front door to their home in a hot pink mini-dress and big voluminous hair, standing next to her nerdy-looking husband.

The running joke then proceeded to focus the disparity of their appearances.

‘Just so I’m clear,  you two are married?’ the host chimed in with a surprised look on his face.

After joking that Jaclyn proposed to Matt three times before they got married, the couple and the film crew went inside the home where it was revealed that Matt has a collection of Smurf toys and a Smurf Life ‘tramp-stamp’ tattoo.

At one point Designer Brylee made an appearance and grabbed Matt’s crotch.

‘Nope it’s just average,’ he said in one of the many funny moments in the piece.

Dressed in a pink and white hood and black pants, Lopez introduced DaBaby for the first of his two songs during the telecast.

First up: Bop, from his most recent studio album, Kirk, which topped the US Billboard 200.

Backed by his DJ, drummer and a bevy of backup dancers, the North Carolina native delivered his laid back vocal style dressed in a Charlotte Hornets basketball jersey.

The American rapper (born Jonathan Kirk) returned for a second performance of his breakout hit, Suge, from his first album, decked out in black skinny jeans and a red fitted sweater.
