Rylan Clark-Neal’s karaoke marathon ends with Simply The Best as incredible fundraising total is revealed

Rylan Clark-Neal fell to the floor with relief after finishing his incredible 24-hour karaoke marathon for Children In Need.

The marathon, dubbed ‘KaRYoke’, was officially brought to an end on Wednesday morning after Clark-Neal, 31, performed Simply The Best as his final track.

He then fell to his knees as the sound of church bells in his Essex hometown, Stanford-Le-Hope, played out in celebration.

Breakfast show host Zoe Ball then revealed the incredible fundraising total so far, announcing that Clark-Neal had raised £845,239.

The Radio 2 presenter completed the feat with the help of plenty of famous pals, duetting with the likes of Michelle Visage and Vanessa Feltz during the challenge.

His last track was a duet with M People star Heather Smalls.

Shortly after crossing the finish line, Clark-Neal tweeted his thanks to everyone who has donated cash.

He wrote: “I’m not really with it, but can’t thank you enough for all your donations for @BBCCiN #KaRYoke on @BBCRadio2. Nearly 900K now I can’t believe it. Thank you xx.”

The BBC later revealed that £200,000 had been raised in the final hour alone and the number could still grow, as fans can still donate. The grand total will be revealed on Friday.

Clark-Neal is the latest in a long line of BBC stars who have taken on 24-hour challenges for charity.

Last year, Strictly Come Dancing presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly boogied non-stop for an entire day while Sara Cox previously did the same with an ‘80s-themed danceathon.

This year’s Children In Need appeal night will take place on Friday (15 November).
