Roman Kemp is winning hearts across the nation as he appears on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. The DJ is best known for his breakfast radio slot on Capital FM, but he also has some famous relatives too.
His father, Martin Kemp, married Wham! singer, Shirlie Holliman, and her former bandmate, George Michael, was Roman’s godfather.
Roman opened up on his family relationships, explaining how close he is to his dad, before discussing another surprising link to Wham! that many won’t be aware of.
Speaking with his fellow co-stars in the Main Camp, Kate Garraway explained how she used to have Spandau Ballet posters on her wall.
She gushed: “I really love your dad. I don’t know if I’ve ever told him – he was my absolute favourite.”

“My dad spent the whole date trying to get rid of him.”
Roman went on to talk about what an “amazing” man George was, who died in 2016.
The DJ explained: “You’d see him at dinners, Christmas, the lot.
“It is really nice that all the memories I gave are so nice, going on holidays, and having my parents compete with Christmas presents.”
He added: “One year, I must have been 4 or 5 and my dad bought me a bike, a Raleigh bike.
“I remember George came round to the house and brought in my present and he’d gone to Harrods and bought one of those electric cars but not just that, it was a Batmobile.
“I’ve still got it. Memories like that, they’re so nice to have but it’s strange because for me it was just my mum’s best mate.”
