Rod Stewart stuns diners at Scottish restaurant as he take his mind off court proceeding

Football fan Sir Rod Stewart, 75, was pictured in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, yesterday ahead of a Fir Park match between his beloved Celtic and the home team.

The singer was snapped outside a local restaurant, after grabbing a meal before the game.

Seemingly putting all thoughts of a court a court appearance out of his mind, Rod posed for a picture with a member of staff at the Da Claudio eatery, for a social media post.

In the image, the well-dressed rock star sported a smart shirt and tie with a coordinating beige jumper and jacket, worn with camel-coloured trousers.

A tan leather bag across his body completed his outfit.

After his visit, the restaurateur took to the company’s Facebook page to share the picture with their 4,320 followers.

Alongside the snap was written: “It’s not every day Rod Stewart drops in for a meal! Yes, it’s actually him!”

Rod’s appearance in Scotland comes as he and his son Sean Stewart face one count each of simple battery, following an alleged altercation with a bouncer at an event at the Breakers Palm Beach Hotel in December.

The singer and his son 39-year-old son have pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The duo are accused of assaulting security guard Jessie Dixon, 33, after they were allegedly refused entry on New Year’s Eve.

According to the Daily Mail, a police report says Jessie alleged Rod and his family were “loud, caused a scene and refused to follow instructions to leave”.
