The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) will return to London, United Kingdom for its second Major of the 2024 season.

The event will take place once again in the Copperbox Arena in London from June 20th-23rd.

The RLCS is Rocket League’s official esports circuit. In January, tournament operator BLAST struck a multi-year deal with Epic Games, which owns Rocket League developer Psyonix, to operate the RLCS. It was previously operated by ESL.

The RLCS 2024 season is made up of two international LAN Majors, followed by a season-ending World Championship. Teams qualify for the Majors by accruing RLCS points through regional leagues held in seven major regions across the globe.

The Copperbox Arena in London has already played host to two RLCS LAN events in the past — the RLCS 2021-22 Spring Split Major and the Season 5 Rocket League World Championship, both of which proved highly popular with fans.

RLCS’ 2024 season has a $4.3m (~£3.4) total prize pool, but the season announcement in January was met with criticism. Teams, players and fans hit out at changes, which included a smaller prize pool, less LAN events, and less LAN slots granted to established regions like North America and Europe.

The first 2024 Major kicks off on March 28th in Copenhagen and will be followed by this second Major in London. The venue for the Rocket League World Championship scheduled for September has not yet been revealed, but fans have speculated that the World Championship will head to North America since both Majors are in Europe.

The news comes during what is already an extremely stacked year for esports in the United Kingdom, with numerous events across leading esports titles all taking place in the country.

The League of Legends 2024 World Championship finals are taking place in London, while Rainbow Six’s first Major of 2024, Dota 2’s ESL One Birmingham, the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024 and more are all taking place in the UK in 2024. Esports Insider is hosting its ESI London 2024 esports and gaming industry event in the capital in June.
