Roberto Firmino has provided Liverpool with a major fitness boost ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League final first leg against Barcelona.
The Brazil international missed Friday’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield, which temporarily lifted Jurgen Klopp’s side back to the top of the Premier League table, with a minor muscle injury.
Daniel Sturridge, making his first league start since December 5, replaced Firmino in the starting line-up but the former Hoffenheim forward appears to certain to reclaim is starting spot alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane after showing no ill-effects during Tuesday’s training session at Melwood.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who made his return from a cruciate knee ligament injury after a year out on Friday, also trained with his teammates and is eligible to play a part after he was included in Liverpool’s squad, submitted to UEFA in February, for the knockout phase.
