Robert Pattinson and John David Washington are set to star in Christopher Nolan's next film

It’s been tentatively described as “a massive, innovative action blockbuster”

Robert Pattinson and John David Washington have reportedly been cast as the leads in director Christopher Nolan’s next big film project.

Nolan’s next movie, which he has written and will at the very least produce, has already been ambitiously described by Variety as “a massive, innovative action blockbuster” which will be screened in IMAX cinemas upon its release.

Collider have now reported that Pattinson and BlacKkKlansman star Washington will be the co-leads of Nolan’s new film. It’s also emerged today (March 20) that Elizabeth Debicki, who is known for her roles in The Cloverfield Paradox and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, will also play a prominent part in the movie, which is being co-produced by Nolan’s frequent creative collaborator and wife Emma Thomas.

Warner Bros. will release the film on July 17, 2020, and production is slated to begin this summer.

Nolan’s last directed film was the WW2 epic Dunkirk, which came out in July 2017 and starred the likes of Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and Kenneth Branagh.

Last month, Pattinson’s collaboration with the Nottingham artist tindersticks on the single ‘Willow’ was released as part of the soundtrack to the movie High Life – which Pattinson stars in.
