Robert Garrison dead: Karate Kid actor dies aged 59


According to the publication, Robert Garrison’s sister-in-law confirmed the news of his death.

She reportedly told them he passed away at a hospital on Friday morning.

It is believed he was in hospital for over a month with kidney and liver issues.

Robert’s representative Rick Henriques told Hollywood Reporter: “It is a huge loss to the Karate Kid and Cobra Kai family.

“He was a great guy and a great actor.”

Robert began his career as a child actor before landing a big role Karate Kid in 1984.

The actor famously shouted: “Get him a bodybag!” during the climax of the film.

He also appeared in television shows MacGyver, Coach and Columbo.

Most recently, the actor reprised his role as Tommy in YouTube TV series Cobra Kai this year.

Following the news of his death, many fans flocked to Twitter to pay a tribute.

One user wrote: “I met #RobGarrison when DJing at a bar in Wheeling.

“He was a server at the time. After some brief small talk, he mentioned that he had been an actor. Then he said his famous line from #KarateKid. I was star-struck.

“Rest In Peace, fellow Mountaineer.”

Another social media user wrote: “My condolences on The loss of Robert Garrison.”

“RIP Robert Garrison,” a third commented.

Robert is survived by his brother Patrick, and sister-in-law Linda.
