The Diamonds singer, 34, who is currently expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, is being sued by a Dublin woman over alleged ‘malicious falsehoods’ perpetrated by the star.
Dana Kavanagh, 47, of Woodbank Drive, Valley Park, Finglas, Dublin, says she was caused mental distress and emotional suffering after Rihanna allegedly sent a malicious email about her partner, Geoffrey Keating.
As reported by The Irish Times, Mr Kavanagh was Rihanna’s head of security in 2012 and in 2013, with Rihanna allegedly sending the email in July of that year.
The star also allegedly called Mrs Kavanagh’s sister-in-law over the phone relating to the same matter, which Mrs Kavanagh is also suing the star for.
According to the outlet, Mrs Kavanagh claims the ‘malicious falsehoods’ within the email and phonecall led to the business she had built up with her husband, Geoff Keating Media, being destroyed.
Rihanna denies the claims.
The Irish High Court heard on Tuesday that two pretrial motions had been resolved between the parties, and on consent the motions could be struck out by the court.
While no date has been fixed for a hearing, the case does currently remain live before the courts.
The High Court mention comes as Rihanna approaches the due date of her first child, with the mum-to-be recently sparking engagement rumours with partner Rocky.
Rapper Rocky debuted the music video for his new single, DMB, last week, which heavily featured Rihanna and even saw the two get married.
However, despite the marriage and engagement rumours sparked by the video, sources close to the couple reportedly told TMZ that this is not the reality.
The couple is neither engaged nor married as ‘the whole thing was just done for fun’, the insider said.
