Tired of running out of supplies mid-fight? This time round, your reliable knife is inexhaustible!
According to Capcom, the Resident Evil 3 Remake will let players play through the entire game with just a knife.
Veteran players of the 1997 game will absolutely love this news – as if they weren’t already drooling at the prospect of returning to an updated Raccoon City.
The graphical upgrade alone signifies a huge leap forward from the standard set by the original on the PlayStation.
Both Jill Valentine and her terrifying stalker Nemesis have got new looks in the remake, which is set to land on 3 April 2020.

Knife-only Playthrough
In an interview with Game Informer (via Gamespot), producer Peter Fabiano described the knife weapon to be “inexhaustible,” unlike in previous editions of the game.
What this means is that you’ll never run out of the ability to use your knife, while other weapon options have limitations.

Fabiano explained:
“We’re dealing with survival horror and everything is exhaustible, so if you did run out of everything, what would you have? The knife.”
Clearly the developers have given this a lot of thought, and want to make it so that you at least have your reliable knife.
Fabiano revealed that some staff at Capcom have tested this theory, with a few of them actually completing the Remake with just a knife.
Despite it being described as a ‘gruelling’ experience, it is possible to achieve!
New Look Jill
The new Jill Valentine looks impressive.
She finally looks less like an out of place model, and more like a normal person.
Her new outfit has been replaced with a Lara Croft-esque trousers and tank top combination.

Oddly enough, quite a few commenters have expressed frustration at Jill’s new look, but they’ll be happy to know that her original outfit will still be available.
Those of you who want a shirt that screams “90s club girl”, you’ll be able to get the exclusive costume pack as an extra when you pre-order the game.
Nemesis Returns
Unfortunately for Jill, her nightmare-inducing stalker is also back.
Nemesis looks like a real tough cookie in the remake, and will allegedly be able to track down Jill Valentine in “more ways than Tyrant from Resident Evil 2”.

Minigame: Resistance
In the online co-op minigame Resistance, four players will form a team of survivors trying to make an escape from an experiment.
The experiment is run by the fifth player, who is in control of a character called Mastermind.

As you can imagine, teamwork will come into play for the team of four.
So far, very little else has been revealed about the minigame, but Capcom has confirmed that there will be six different survivor characters that players can choose from.
