Reading and Leads
Festival 2020 organisers confirmed that the festival is still going ahead
despite the spread of the coronavirus.

This year’s festival is supposed to be held between 28 and
30 August.

Stormzy, Liam Gallagher and Rage Against The Machine are
headlining over the three days, while other acts include Migos, Run The Jewels,
Aitch and AJ Tracey.

Organisers sent an email out to ticket holders this week, updating them on the current condition.

The statement read: ‘At this time, Reading/Leeds Festival is
going ahead as planned. Please be assured that the safety and health of all
staff and visitors is our main priority and we are implementing recommendations
and instructions appropriately.

‘We are closely monitoring official guidance from the World Health Organisation, Public Health England, UK Government, local public health authorities and are working with event promoters and organisers as information evolves.

‘If you are attending, please follow the most up to date information on the Coronavirus that is available at World Health Organisation, UK Government and the NHS.’

Other acts include Two Door Cinema Club, Lady Leshurr, Lewis
Capaldi, and All Time Low.

The news comes after popular festivals in the US have been either postponed or cancelled.

Coachella and Stagecoach are postponed until October when it usually takes place in April.

South By Southwest, on the other hand, was cancelled and fans won’t be given a refund.

The company’s terms and conditions of participation
mentioned their strict no-refund policy, even though some tickets are over
$1,000 (£770).

Their policy reads: ‘Any and all payments made to SXSW are not refundable for any reason, including, without limitation, failure to use Credentials due to illness, acts of God, travel-related problems, acts of terrorism, loss of employment and/or duplicate purchases.’

If you’ve also purchased flight and hotel tickets, then it’s
time to live like a student for the next year.

Or just go to Reading and Leeds Festival.
