Sterling still has three years left on his current contract, but talks over a new deal have been ongoing since November.
They’re in negotiations over a new £450,000-a-week contract; a 33 per cent increase on his current deal.
Sterling’s future had been questioned at City, after the Citizens were handed a two-year ban from European competitions by UEFA last week.
City have already revealed plans to appeal the decision, with the case being taken to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
