Rachel Riley and Pasha Kovalev marry ‘in secret Las Vegas wedding’

Rachel Riley has married her former Strictly Come Dancing partner Pasha Kovalev.

The Countdown presenter shared an Instagram photo of her and Kovalev captioned “Introducing the new Mr and Mrs Kovalev” earlier today, adding: “We both said yes!”

The snap showed the 33-year-old wearing a white dress with red embellishment, clutching a bouquet of red and white roses, with her arm around her new husband.

Records from Clark County, the area of Nevada which includes Las Vegas, show that the pair married on Friday.

A source told The Sun that the couple “wanted to ensure it was just the two of them and everything was kept as quiet as possible.”

“They did it in complete secrecy – even most of their friends and family had no idea they were going there to get married,” the insider added.

The couple, who met when they were paired on the 2013 series of Strictly, announced in May that they are expecting their first child together.

Riley shared a photo of herself cradling her baby bump on the set of the classic Channel 4 show with the letters on the famous board spelling “R TINY MATE,” an anagram of “maternity.”

“Pash and I have a conundrum for you… you have till December to work it out!” she wrote, adding that the couple are “over the moon excited.”

Riley and Kovalev have been together since 2014 after the mathematician split from husband Jamie Gilbert in 2013.

The dancing pro announced in February that he had decided to leave Strictly after eight “incredible years,” telling fans that it was time for him to “find a new challenge.”

“After scoring 93 perfect 10s, reaching four finals and lifting one glitter ball, it’s time for me to find a new challenge and so I’ve decided to make last year my final season on Strictly,” he wrote on Twitter.

“I’ve had eight fantastic years, full of wonderful memories, thanks to the incredible partners, professionals and myriad of behind the scenes teams who all work to make Strictly the amazing production that it is.”
