PSG worried Real Madrid star will stifle Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in Champions League tie

PSG are reportedly fearful Real Madrid star Casemiro will be able to stifle Kylian Mbappe and Neymar when the two sides meet in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The footballing world will be looking on at the Parc des Princes as two of Europe’s best sides thrash it out.

PSG and Real Madrid have both warmed up for the showdown with domestic wins over Strasbourg and Levante respectively.

Yet Spanish website Defensa Central claim PSG are worried about Casemiro ahead of the match.

The Brazil international was at his bulldozing best as Real edged out Levante 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.

He chipped in with a goal for Zinedine Zidane’s side with 79 per cent of his overall match actions successful.

Casemiro finished the game with a 93 per cent success rate on passing and made two clearances and two interceptions.

Defensively, he won six of his 10 tackles and was a calming presence in the middle of the park.

And the report claims PSG are concerned.

They supposedly feel he may be able to stop Neymar, who is expected to start the game after scoring the winner against Strasbourg.

And they also worry for Mbappe, who is battling to be fit in time for the clash and may start on the bench.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid and PSG both recently negotiated a transfer swap deal.

Aphonse Areola touched down at the Bernabeu with Keylor Navas replacing him at the Parc des Princes.

But Areola has insisted he will not be sharing any PSG secrets ahead of the Champions League showdown.

“It was a joint decision [for me to come here] but I gave the green light,” Areola told Maxifoot.

“It’s up to me to decide what to do in my career.

“It was a good opportunity for me to come to the biggest club in the world. I’m going to enjoy this year and hopefully grow a little more.

“It’s a quirk of destiny to head back [to Paris] so fast. But in the locker room, I have not talked about their squad or the training led by Tuchel.”

Real Madrid and PSG last met in the Champions League two seasons ago.

And it was Los Blancos who prevailed, winning 3-1 on aggregate.
