PlayStation fans ready to try something new today have a choice of PS4 free games and bonuses available in the PS Store.

PS4 news this weekend includes free game trials to download and the latest demos to try out.

The PlayStation Store is regularly updated with new content, some of which can be downloaded at no extra charge.

And some of the latest updates to the PSN will definitely appeal to PS4 console owners hoping to try something new.

One of the latest PS4 bonuses is the True Fear: Forsaken Souls – Part 2 demo, which was recently added to the online store.

What makes True Fear a little different from other horror games is that it is a point and click experience.

But that doesn’t mean it will be any less creepy to play on your PlayStation console.

“True Fear: Forsaken Souls combines the best of the psychological thriller with intuitive gameplay mechanics for a mind-bending mystery escape game,” the official game description explains.

“If you’re looking for a horror game that doesn’t sacrifice the story, this is the game for you! Sceptical that a point and click adventure can be compelling or scary? Try the free demo!”

True Fear: Forsaken Souls Part 2 requires around 2GB of space on your console, making it an easy fit. There’s also no time limit, meaning you don’t have to rush into downloading it this weekend.

As mentioned above, this game is released in an episodic fashion, with Part 1 also available to buy now.

And for those looking for more insight into the story, developer Goblinz adds: “You are walking down a street you don’t recognise, the fog slowing your pace to a crawl as darkness blinds you.

“You pause and look up to see a house; candles flicker in every window, like a beacon. Climbing the few steps to the front door, you realise many years have passed since it was last opened – it has been sealed with rust and purpose.

“Inexplicably, just as you know the candles are for you, you know someone waits inside. Someone who has remained in that house since before the iron began to rust. They have been patient. Waiting for over two decades. Waiting for you.”

Described as an intense adventure brimming with psychological suspense in a plot filled with twists and turns, True Fear: Forsaken Souls has a 12+ age rating.

The full version of True Fear: Forsaken Souls – Part 2 is also available to purchase on the PSN.

And for those not looking to be creeped out, there are other free gaming experiences to put through their paces. Sony has made it possible to test out The Crew 2 until the end of December 8, on PS4.

And the good news for fans who enjoy it, you can grab the Deluxe Edition of the game for up to 70% off at the PlayStation Store, until December 12.

There should be something for everyone, as The Crew 2 was recently refreshed with new content via the Blazing Shots update.

Blazing Shots is the fourth major free update to come to The Crew 2, following Gator Rush, which introduced hovercrafts; Demolition Derby, which added its namesake event and destructible cars; and Hot Shots, which first introduced the LIVE Summits.
