PS Plus October Free Games: Big update for PS4 gamers ahead of PlayStation launch

PS4 fans only have a few more days to wait before the next free games are released by Sony.

The new October PS Plus titles were confirmed earlier this week and include The Last of Us Remastered, and MLB The Show 19.

These new titles will be going live on Tuesday, October 1, and will replace the current lineup.

But these games aren’t the only special bonuses available to download with a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Each month sees Sony launch exclusive bundles for free games that don’t require a PlayStation Plus.

And new ones have been added just in time for some large updates coming during October 2019.

As many Apex Legends fans will already know, Season 3 of the hit Battle Royale series will be kicking off soon.

This will happen on the same day as the new PS Plus games are launched and will see a wave of new content added to the games, including a map.

“Welcome to World’s Edge, a new Apex Legends map where molten heat and chemical ice collide,” a message from Respawn Entertainment reads,

“Join our cast of Legends – including the newest Legend, Crypto – on the dropship as they’re whisked from Planet Solace towards World’s Edge on Planet Talos.”

And gamers with a PS Plus subscription can also claim a new bonus pack of cosmetic items before the big launch.

The new PlayStation Plus Play Pack can be found on the PS Store and can be downloaded right now.

“Show up in the Apex Arena ready to play with the PlayStation Plus Play Pack,” the official page description reads.

“This collection of content will trick specific weapons and Legends out in special gear. This pack includes six items in total.”

“Two character skins (Wraith & Caustic), two weapon skins (Hemlok & Peacekeeper), and two banners (Wraith & Caustic).”

It’s a great time to add these cosmetic items to your account, and the best bit is that unlike PS Plus games, these cosmetics won’t disappear after you end your subscription.

And as stated above, fans still have plenty of time to download the current lineup of PS Plus games, as stated in a recent blogpost.

“Both The Last of Us Remastered and MLB The Show 19 will be available to download from the PlayStation Store between 1st October and 4th November,” a message from Sony adds.

“In the meantime, you still have a few days left to pick up September’s PlayStation Plus titles.

“Batman: Arkham Knight is DC’s most-iconic crime-fighting crusader in Rocksteady’s neo-noir action-adventure and explosive finale to the Arkham series, while Darksiders III is a visceral hack-and-slash action-adventure that places you in a dark fantasy world filled with diverse environments, dangerous foes, hidden secrets, and weapons and abilities to unlock.

“Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III are available to download now until 30th September.

“We hope you enjoy this month’s lineup! If you’re not a PlayStation Plus member yet, now is the perfect time to join.

“In addition to a refreshed lineup of monthly PS4 games, members have access to benefits such as online multiplayer, 100GB of cloud storage for PS4 game saves, and exclusive PS Store discounts.”

It should be noted that no PS Plus subscription is needed to download and play Apex Legends on PS4 consoles.
